We had an opportunity to sit down with Kenn Hoekstra (Project Administrator at Raven Software). He spills the beans on the Force powers to be included in the title and how many hours of gameplay we can expect to see.
GameGossip: Can you tell us who you are and what your role is on the JA team?
Kenn Hoekstra: - Project Administrator - Raven Software
GG: Apart from Luke, will there be any other celebrity guests, like Lando in Jedi Knight II?
KH: Chewbacca and Kyle Katarn are confirmed "guest stars," and there are several more faces you'll recognize from the films. Unfortunately, I can't tell you who they are. It's a surprise?
GG: What are the Force powers of the game?
KH: The Force powers in Jedi Academy are?Jump, Push, Pull, Speed, Sense, Absorb, Heal, Mind Trick, Protection, Drain, Grip, Lightning and Rage. Additionally, in multiplayer, you have Team Heal and Team Energize.
GG: What other races are planned, other than Human, Rodian and Twi'lek that are playable?
KH: In addition to those mentioned, you can also play as a Kel Dor male or a Zabrak female.
GG: How many hours of gameplay will there be in total?
KH: Since everyone's skill level and playing style are different and we can't really answer that. The game is several levels longer than JKII, and there are multiple endings, so playtime is even greater than in the last game.
GG: Will the 7 light saber forms (fighting styles) be a part of gameplay?
KH: There are actually three different lightsabers to choose from. They are single lightsaber, double-bladed lightsaber and dual lightsabers. The single saber has three fighting styles - fast, medium and strong, and the double sabers are each their own style. You start the game with the single saber and the medium fighting style. As the game progresses, the other options become available to you.
More information on the title can be found at the official site. |
