It's all good, dude, you've got me all wrong. What's a forum if you can't have a good discussion? That's all it is to me.

The truth is, whether or not you and I think the Red Hot Chili Peppers are a diverse, maturing band, that does not make it a fact. Even though you say you acknowledge that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, you have the tendency to state yours as if it were a fact. If Injy thinks that the Chili Peppers are a stale band that haven't progressed at all through the years, then that's what they are to him, no matter what we say. The only thing you're doing by arguing your opinion as fact, is drawing out an already established point, thus hindering the thread from progressing any further.
That's a very common misconception that I far too frequently see in these forums. Just because I state my opinion as fact does not make it so, it's simply my opinion. The main reason why I don't state my opinion in a manner which is blatantly an opinion is because that would be redundant. If I say "imo", then I'm overstating the fact that I'm simply speaking my mind. Since it already is my thoughts and feelings, there's really no need to say "imo" or any deviation thereof. For whatever reason, some posters misinterpret this as me stating my opinions as fact, but this is certainly not the case. I rely on logic, evidence, anecdotal or empirical, to prove my point, not emotions. If there's a disagreement, fine, I have no problems with that as I've stated numerous times, but there won't ever be any progress in the world if we just give up all discussions and say "well you're right and I'm right so let's not ever discuss anything anymore". Healthy debates lead to critical thinking about important topics, and we can all benefit from each other's perspectives, it's a reciprocal process. All I attempted to do with Injektilo was to present the same situation from a different light, to show that there's a different way of looking at this example. Maybe he still disagrees with me but at least he could appreciate the idea from an alternate point of view. I hope this clears up any misconception you have about my presence in this thread.

I mean, maybe I should just butt out and let you to guys bang your heads together, but I'd like to see this thread take some different paths and let some other people talk about the Peppers.
I'd rather have a meeting of the minds than head banging, although the latter wouldn't be too bad with some Metallica

Yeah, reading while writing is very interesting to me. It's sometimes difficult for me, because different music equals a different voice in my writing, so if I'm not listening to one progressive string of music my writing tends to branch off. I might try it again though.
Some studies have shown that listening to Mozart (edit: darn typo) helps students improve their efficiency, and purportedly subjecting infants to his music will help develop their brains in a positive manner, affecting parts of the brain that needs stimulation but normally does not receive it. Food for thought
