Anecdotal and empirical are different concepts if that's what you're referring to as being redundant, but I see no problem/redundancy with employing logic in any discussion, as long as it's reasonable within the context. In many discussions regarding music I'd agree that it's all subjective, but there are other instances like in this thread that fall outside of that scope. It all depends on what's being discussed.
