Mumbles, i'm impressed with the fact you made it in paint and notepad, but its seriously lacking. I think it could use some well defined borders around text. and remember NO ONE LIKES FRAMES!!!. sorry, i gotta drill that into your head
![]() Alrighty everyone, i updated my pro site with text and everything should be working properly. Could someone give it a quick read over and test the links? Heres the link.... Fate Design |

@Statik
Its a nice looking site, but i feel that the dashed lines are a bit over used. I like the top very much, looks professional. But as you get towards the bottom it gets a bit busy, kinda like your putting up useless content. Also, i find the 'Recent Posts' scroller a bit distracting. Other than that its a really good looking site! BTW i love CKY!! The band and vids. @Mumbles If i was a user and i visited your site and i'm browsing with IE why would i click the Netscape link? I would click the IE, and noticing the frames and them being annoying, i'd leave. |

My personal website (the only I continue to maintain) is http://www.jeyers.co.uk
When I started out I wanted a nice, simple, utilitarian design that uses tables over frames, and that's what I got. However, in going for the simple route, even I have grown a little bored with it. I'm not after a major overhaul, though I'd be interested if anybody has any ideas for little touches that could make it stand out a bit more. Cheers. |

@WebLOCH:
Pure beauty, my friend. Keep it up!I saw that it says "Baka?" in the title... Isn't that Japanese for "idiot", am I right? @Evil-Penguin: Most free-hosters usually add their advertisement script along with a bunch of end-tags, like </noscript> and such things as that. Look at Geocities for an example. But putting double <noscript> tags, that might just work... ![]() Isn't it strange by the way that they usually insert the advertisement script after you HTML, considering if they had put it in before the original code it would have been much harder to prevent the ads from showing up? |

Yeah this thread is pretty much forsaken... Strange isn't it?
Nice site Mumbles! I especially love the spelling errors. ;P Seriously tho, you shouldn't mind all frame haters - frames are still a good thing. The only (yes only) downside is that when you locate a framed page through a search engine it will lack, well, the frames. My guess is that those who have anything against frames don't really know how to use them (iframes however use to be beloved). They might think that all modern sites are frameless and that that somehow automatically would make frames be like yesterdays garbage. :P But they are wrong. If one make the frames look ugly and take up too much space, it still would prove effective. The menu is always available and pages load faster. Also much easier to update one frame-based menu than 30 loose ones spread over 30 documents (if not the menu are to be automatically included in each page but that might run over course for most users). *attempting to start discussion * Comments on this? -- @mercielago: Nice. Latest link doesn't work so I went through this one: http://www.rockstarresource.tk/ @[FM]Mowgz: Seems like a good place to go to if you want info about the game. Thumbs up! However the design (which is good in general) does NOT work on 800x600 (which still is used mostly out of all resolutions). Maybe you should fix that? Or maybe you shouldn't because most people who will go to that site probably have higher resolution. Yeah. Probably. |

I'm working on a site for a friend, and although it isn't done, I'd still like opinions. Yes, I know it looks like my site with a new header, but that's because I got lazy and threw in the home page of my site for some content.
Suggestions? http://vhe.untweb.com/w40k/ |

@Mumbles:
Hehe, no I can't say that I've had. =) Isn't it fun to be the Dreamweaver guru in the class though? @TheChef321: More padding in the darkgray table (with the menu and affiliates). And while you're at it you could reduce the body margin to zero and change the background colour to the same as the darkgray table. In my opinion, blue and gray doesn't fit very well together. :P But that can be a minor problem as long as you at least change the menu link colour; are they supposed to be standard win blue? Oh, and don't you think it's a bit much to say "Warhammer 40k Home" in the location box? Just "Home" should do good. I mean, there is after all a huge Warhammer 40k logo located directly to the left of it.. =) |

Well, I'm not done with the menu aspect yet. Yeah, it's a bit too much to say "Warhammer 40k Home" in the location box. That'll be changed. |

@Nirab:
Hey that looks really good. Professional. =) Thumbs up!
Only got two suggestions: Enlarge the space between the scroll list and the right table border (so that it corresponds with the space on the left side of the window) and make some smoother table endings (at the bottom of the tables - just put some curves down there so it doesn't feel so hard to look at. Looks like the tables have been cut off). And the "BabyBoco"-email link need a new color. But I'm sure you just haven't gotten there yet. Hope you make some nice onmouseover effect for the menu links. =) May I suggest bright pink and a bold font? |
