AVP: Sumo

Watching AVP the other day, I got thinking about the strengths of the pred versus the alien. Aliens can pretty much push and shove the pred, but the pred is strong enough to swing an alien around its head, by the tail.

So, hypothetically, if there was a sumo match between an alien and a predator, no weapons, no tail whipping, no claws, no biting etc - who would be out of the ring first?

The alien would be out of the ring first as the Predator is built much better for a sumo match. It could get a lot lower than an alien, presumably, which would make it hard to move and then the Predator could just push the alien out. The alien would probably be more agile though and could use that to his advantage but considering the Predator is by no means clumsy he would probably still win. I think anyways.

Aliens don't seem to weigh very much. Whereas I bet you get some fat bastard Predators. (The ones that stay back on the ship playing Deer Hunter on the Predbox 360 rather than going out and doing the real thing.)

Going by the movies, I would say pretty definitively that an Alien is much MUCH stronger than a Pred, especially in light of being to hurl itself many many feet out of water without any buoyancy devices, Grid literally pinning Gill/Chopper and Celtic only using about 4-8% of his available surface area, and additionally Gill is held motionless and turned in mid-air using only a little section of tail as leveraging which sez OMG SO MUCH STRONG whereas the Pred weighs an assload more than human and also seems to be pound for pound stronger via Dutch and Harrigan fights and Grid being used for the caber toss. If the Pred grabbed the Alien he would literally pike him out of the ring... but all it would take to win is the Alien tripping the Pred with his tail or simply ramming the Pred past the ring lightning quick.

I would not want to be on the recieving end of a charging alien, whether I was a predator or not. Case in point - the doors in the ops battle. Even if Aliens arn't all that heavy they sure as hell know how to throw it around to maximum effect.

Also the ability to stick to anything would make it REALLY hard to oust the Alien if he glomped onto you.

From watching the music video "Wach auf" by OOMPH! it does indeed appear that we will be seeing some alien vs predator shoving contests. The predator looks like it's out matched.
