First reviews are in. Getting an average of 95 on Metacritic so far.

Red Dead Redemption (xbox360) reviews at Metacritic.com

A good few reviews saying it's better than GTAIV. Which is nice. I'm going to leave it at that for now, lest the wait get dragged out. It's out here on Friday btw. Not today. You fucking yank cunts.

nah, this is pretty fun and worth playing the multiplayer and more creative. gta4 was a good game but it wasn't anything special imo, this definitely is something special.

Indeed. Frontier justice is the bomb.

My only complaint is that you can't really be truly evil and have it really matter, in terms of the gameplay and story. Your greeting changes from salutations to insults and civilians run away from you occasionally, but there's no real change in the game or the story itself. You can literally murder a whole town, then start the next mission and you're friendly Mr. Marston, polite to children and puppies. That's just weird.

It might have been nice to have two sets of cutscene dialogue (and a smattering of missions); one for when you hit "road agent" and are essentially a serial killer on a horse, and one for when you're nicer than that. On the other hand, that would probably have taken up a lot of space.

What I'm getting at is that there's not a lot of point to making a career out of evil.

PS: I've hogtied a woman, rode her out to the desert and left her on the train tracks. She exploded in a red mist when the train hit her.
Another time, someone insulted me, so I hogtied him, rode him out to a desert cliff, untied him at the edge and shoved him off when he got up.

There's 5g worth of achievement in doing that on the 360! Woopdeedoo.

I did that after a woman stopped me at the side of a 'road' screaming for help and she turned out be the bait for a random ambush. I swiftly murdered the 4 men who'd sprang out from behind rocks, shot her in the calf, hog-tied her and carried her to the tracks for some raw justice. Brilliant.

I have been killed multiple times while hunting boars. If it isn't the boars that team up to take me out, its the cougars that come out of nowhere.

i've barely done any of the storyline missions. I'm too busy helping strangers, searching for treasure, doing challenges, hunting, collecting bounties, gambling...
