oh and the space jockeys manufacturing aliens as weapons is absolutely retarded. if you are colonising a planet how does it make sense to release a life form that will wipe out anything bigger than a dog and replace it with a nine foot monster that is way more dangerous? judging by what happens to paradise i'm guessing they don't have a magic button that makes every alien drop dead

OH and space jockeys created humans what, a couple of millions of years ago? and they as a species (let alone culture) have not advanced at all in that time?

AND FINALLY if you're telling me humans were created by aliens you're not answering the question of where life comes from

I know that it created buzz for the movie, people want to know more, wich could be good for Ridley and his crew.

Good times, i dont want to have the plot ruined, im building up resistance to media slowly, i wasnt ready for this, i am weak and read.

Jockey was fossiled when they found it anyway, so wouldnt of worked in the timeline.

Well, that's a blast from the past. I'm pretty sure Christian Fowler was the guy who ran the Unofficial Alien 5 Site, the first internet forums I joined way back in 1998 and where I first encountered SM. Good to see he's still keeping the fan end up. So to speak.

Playing devil's advocate, but it could still work in that regard if you had designed the aliens with the accelerated lifecycle like Scott had already mentioned. Then you just wait it out.

The Jockey's designing both humans and aliens is pretty stupid though, I agree. If they went ahead and designed the predators you could indeed call them forerunners, protheans, or whoever designed the protoss and zerg (i forget). Wasn't saying it was original, just that it could be done.

Vaguely resembles one of the last Alien comics released.

I am officially never looking at this thread ever again. Nor anything Prometheus/Alien related. All this fanboyism bullshit actually adds to my disillusionment of the franchise and the constant rumours floating about doesn't make me any more excited. I will stick to enjoying the fucking end-product and post-film discussion. That is all, fuck ye's!

have to say it looks a lot more derivative of alien than i was expecting. part of me goes all gooey when i see more giger interiors, part of me thinks everything else looks like stills from event horizon. this looks creepy though:

part of the reason i liked that we are one still was the palette. it gave a kind of 2001 fantasy stargate vibe. don't think we'll be seeing anything like that here

i'm terrified by this project. i'd hoped no one would ever touch the space jockeys. they just seem more alien and unfathomable without anything more then the minute exposition we got in Alien. and the xenomorphs have already been creatively violated enough; i won't be able to stand it if they make it canon that they were an engineered weapon or something. oh wow fancy that that's original GUFFAW.
