Sebastian Neglected

Sebby was my favorite character in the novel, but he just really was neglected in the film. Anyone else feel this way about certain characters in all the films?

The characters weren't that developed, so I wasn't exactly in tears when Sebastian got yanked. Sure, I would have liked to see him do more, but then I could say that about pretty much everyone (including that first predator).

Yeah, he was certainly likeable, they just didn't do enough with his character.

I personally thought the film needed a more down to earth lead. It's hard to relate to Lex.

That just shows the difference between the book and the film. I was too happy when he bite the bucket in the book, because I'd got to like him. Cerasini had developed him quite nicely.

AvP is far and away the worst novelisation of the Alien flicks. Not surprising, but there you go.

I thought the characters in it were as shallow as the film in most respects. They got a little more depth but not a huge amount. And if anything the start was worse than the film, with not only the 1904 start, but another, fairly identical prologue set in ancient Cambodia.

And there were other things like the non-existant research about Bouvetoya that irritated me.
