Best and Worst in gaming 2011
Well, we got best and worst in movies, why not gaming as well? List the Best and worst games you played in 2011.
Best: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception; A real awesome game. Naughty Dog can be proud of selling this. They do shit real. Dragon Age 2; Bioware did it again. They created a good game, the first one is still better, but this is not bad. Great entertainment. Total War: Shogun 2; I've not had real fun in a TW game since ROME, and then this came out. Now make TW: Rome 2 Portal 2; So fun... just so fun... Great SP, real fun MP. Worst: L.A Noire; Simply did not enjoy. Sniper: Ghost Warrior; I'm sorry, where's the sniper stuff? I'm sure I've forgotten a ton of games, but these are the ones I liked and hated the most. |

Best:
Witcher 2 - Best of everything, best company & best RPG Total War 2 - Best strategy Portal 2 - Best comedy ![]() Worst: Rage Stupid shooters (MW2, BF3) Dx3 - out of principle this is a bad Dx game and the tits who made it don't understand things, also shows what consoles do to intelligent games. As a standalone game it's good Skyrim - I have to put it here because while it's good as a sum of whole it's bad by any single individual aspect of it and thus not a good game. New Vegas was superior to this in every way except for world size. I also think I have't played the really bad ones, so my worst list is more like: less good. |

Best:
Dark Souls - One of the most amazing games I've played in my adult life. I miss the days of getting assfucked repeatedly by enemies. Plus the multiplayer aspect is, I have only just discovered after being about 80+ hours in, incredible. Read up on it. It might make fuck all sense, but that's part of teh charm. Batman AC - Another home run from Rocksteady. Brilliant pacing, a not-too-big but ridiculously detail city, and the finest combat system seen in a 3rd person adventure. And its Batman. From Dust - Only about halfway through it, but I love the idea behind this game. Basically a god sim where you molest the elements to your whim while guiding little humans around. Portal 2 - Blah blah blah *slurp* Worst: Uncharted 3 - Really, really dissapointed by this. The second game is one of my favouritest games evar but it seems like they dropped the ball on this one. A dodgy aiming system (why would they change it??) and even more linearity to the levels means I got about a third of the way through before I gave up. Not GENUINELY one of the worst games of the year, but stuck in my mind because of the standards set by its predecessor. Rage - Didn't finish this either. Really pretty, but generic as shit and, contrary to how a post-apoc title SHOULD be, really easy to blast through. Jak 3 is still the best wasteland adventure outside of the Fallout series. Gears of War 3 - Again, I quite enjoyed the second game, but this was a massive letdown in terms of closing a trilogy. The second game had a lovely new set of weapons and epic locations. This had a handful of ideas clearly scrapped from previous titles, an utterly forgettable series of levels that culminated in a final battle on top of a nice hotel. Not deep in the worlds core, or amongst some exploding ship, just on a building. The location is so uninspiring and pointless that the end boss has to come to YOU to find some kind of closure on the series. Also the 'drama' felt just as laughably bad as it did in the second game. Dom dies. Unless you're a 14 year old WWE fan I don't expect you'll give an ounce of fucks. |

I heap accolades onto:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution. This game is just me all over. Love the gameplay, love the aesthetic, love the genre (both CRPGs and cyberpunk). I heap scorn onto: Battlefield 3. What hyperbole! What spectacle! Beneath a mightily impressive veneer -- what are imho ground-breaking graphics and sound -- this is a dog turd of a game. Everything else other than the lauded graphics and sound is terrible, the game design is near completely incompetent, in single and multiplayer. |

Worst? Every game so far for awhile now has been a letdown.
Gotta sadly agree about BF 3. It boggles the mind how they could do this to their own game. Kinda reminds me of another Dev who 86ed their game too. *cough*AVP2010*cough*cough* Oh yeah, RAGE. |

I don't even think I played any new games in 2011. Was Dragon Age 2011 or 2010? Halo Reach was 2010 right? Hmmm. I guess SWTOR would be my 2011 game but I haven't even been able to play it yet! I did buy it in 2011 though so maybe it will be my best and worst of 2011 once I'm able to play it.

Oh yeah, forgot Skyrim was 2011. I also played Gears of War 3 in 2011 now that I think about it. Hmmm...it's tough to say which one was better since they're so different. They are both my best and worst of 2011 I guess!

Best: Nothing really blew me away in 2011. Although I didn't play everything. But a lot of the good ones, however, were sequels and such. Batman AC was probably the best; its combat and overall Batman-feel is just a lot of fun.
Worst: Oh, this award goes to F.E.A.R. 3. Yeah, fuck that game. Fuck it to hell. |

Skyrim was the best I've played in a long time. Portal 2 was also amazing. LA Noire was the only other new game I have played this year I thought it was a let down.
I will also throw Dead Island on to the list because I've been looking forward to it for 2 years. When the game play footage started to surface I knew I was no long interested. |

I'm not such of a gamer cuz I'm playing on line only sc2 and avp but I bought few days ago dead space 2 just because I've read good shit about it and until now I consider it pretty awesome.regarding sc2 I'd say it is the best game of 1999,2000,2001,2002,2003......2013

BEST:
Skyrim is the one game I've been playing non stop since I got it, and I can't wait to start a new character afterward! It's an interesting, living, breathing world that is so much fun to explore!...until I took an arrow to the knee... The little (too little!) I've played of Shogun 2: Total War is a great continuation of the Total War series I know and love, and will always love. I'm with Anceh 100%, make Rome 2: Total War, now! WORST: 2011 probably ranks as one of the years that I played the least amount of games, but even so: Dead Island falls under the biggest disappointments ever. I mean, we all knew Duke Nukem forever would suck, and nobody expected Bodycount to be anything above an average FPS shooter. But with such a spectacular (and sad ) trailer, and such a frustrating game, it really just bums me out.

Magicka is finally growing on me. For a while there I was stumped by the sheer difficulty, but after a bit of practice and tinkering with elements I think I'm getting the hang of it. It's marvellously innovative in many ways, and I think MMORPGs and Diablo-clones could learn a thing or two from it.

Not sure if it was 2011 but Dragon Age 2 sucks. Well, I'm only about an hour into it but I hate it already. It's cool to tie into Dragon Age a little but it's so different in the gameplay. Like not improved different, but just totally different. I bought it for 30 bucks because I had a gift card to Game Stop and nothing else really stood out and even though it was essentially free I'm pissed I wasted my free money on it. I'm going to give it more of a chance to see if it grows on me but I doubt it will.
