Who here likes to smoke?

Just an opinion thread, but who likes a good cigarette? I started smoking about a year ago and absolutly love it. Of course there are other things to smoke, but I shall leave you to discuss such matters. On a personal note, it's strictly cigs for me as I have a drug test coming up soon for a new job.

There are plenty of ways to do do copious amounts of damage to your body - and pay for the privilege no less - but smoking isn't one I indulge.

I don't smoke. I get the cancer minus the effects the old fashioned way. second hand.

It makes me warm, bubbly, and tarred like a roof inside.

Smoking threads and religious threads are the most volatile threads ever. I dont understand it. If you dont smoke, thats awesome, good for you, but dont bother those of us that do smoke with it.

I, for one, love smoking. I just came in from having a cigarette. Ive been smoking for about 6 years, and I dont really regret it. Yeah, I know its unhealthy, but most people have some sort of unhealthy habit, so leave mine alone. I absolutely hate it when someone comes up to me and says "You know, smoking is bad for you."
What the fuck? No kidding. I thought the whole surgeon general warning, massive public outcry against it, and monstrous anti-smoking ad campaign was a big fucking practical joke! Bottom line: My health is my concern, so screw you.

(note: this is not directed at anyone in this thread, its just a general rant.)

::waits for angry anti-smokers to turn the hose on thread::

in the past i've had no less than 3 threads about smoking attacked and snuffed out prematurely, it sickens me.

I smoke. Cigarettes primarily, but i enjoy the occasional cigar with a single-malt and the occasional pipe with a spot of cognac. It's amazing how the above used to be symbols of wealth and sophistication, now it's viewed as the equivilant of picking one's nose.

I would rather see anti smoking groups turn their attention towards alcohol abuse and drunk driving. It's a problem that is far more out of control. I could quit smoking today and still be splattered by a drunk driver tomorrow...and this is coming from a bartender.

I don't care if people smoke, as long they don't do it near me(the actual smoke of the cigarette is more unhealthy than cigarette itself).

I smoke, I quit or rather took a six month break last year. Things got a little crazy when I bought a house and what not, I plan on trying to quit again after this summer. I do understand how good cigarettes can be though.

I enjoy the odd ciggarette, one to three a week. I don't plan on having much more than that as I figure that for the price of a packet of tailies ($10NZ) I can buy a 12 pack of not very good beer and I would rather be drunk than durried up.

I smoke. It used to be a here and there thing but as of lately it's become quite a habit. I made a bet with a couple of mates that I could go a month without a single cigarette today, so not for a while. :/

I think cigarette and cigar smoke is quite repulsive. I smoke cigars probably twice or thrice a year as a social thing but I really don't enjoy it at all.

Now...bud on the other hand?

I smoke like a fucking chimney, something disturbing like one pouch and a pack to two packs of tailies a week. For the most part I just smoke rollies or my pipe. I've been pushing a lot of weed lately as well (in fact I'm most likely buying $40 worth tomorrow morning), but that's not really what this thread's about. I noticed one or two others smoke a pipe, is there anyone else? Pipe users unite! My pipe's a big wooden one. Like a pirate would have.

That always confused me, because if they ask "Do you like to smoke?" I mean, surely, you're allowed to say "Well no I don't". It's not like it's a thread directed to smokers but non-smokers barge in and fill it up with annoying little warnings about how you're going to die. It's adressed to everyone, asking if you do or not, and I mean, the people who don't are still adressed and allowed to reply, right?

No, I don't smoke. Mainly because I don't find it appealing, personally. Especially the smell, but hey, I know people who don't mind it.

my buddy works at a hooka bar. I've been to see him, but i never actually take part. Supposedly you just chill and smoke various flavored tobaccos through various types of hookas. Interesting, it smells good in there, but i'd rather just light some incense at home.

The funny thing, most of the people at the hooka bar give me dirty looks when i pull out a cigarette.

Its surprising how non-smokers actually smoke hooka's, isnt it? Besides, have you ever smoked a cigarette directly after smoking a hooka? It tastes like absolute ass.

never smoked a hooka, the bar my buddy works at is quite pricey, and i'm not really interested in smoking strawberry-vanilla tobacco...if i want flavor, that's what nicaraguan robustos are for...

interestingly, almost every smoker i've talked to about smoking in my LIFE told me it's a bad habit and that i was better off not doing it. and i never approach anyone about it either, this is just when they ask me whether i smoked and i tell them i don't. it almost seems like a ritual.

I used to do that in the past. I have no idea why, but people who offer me a smoke and I'd think "fuck it, why not". Doesn't happen anymore though.
