Edgar and Bendo is a total pick em for me. I'm leaning toward Bendo, but it's hard for me to pick against Edgar after the last few years he's had.

Edgar was hanging by an absolute thread against Maynard. I'm a huge fan of Edgar, and rooting for him, but I think Bendo will be a bit too much. I see a title change happening here.

What's everyone think of Sonnen saying he won't go after Anderson after his victory against Bisping?? Kind of a monkey wrench thrown in there after he called him out.

I also predict Miller winning too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bendo gets the win, but then again I wouldn't be surprised if Edgar hangs on through it all and out maneuvers and outlasts Bendo and takes away another close decision.

Sonnen will decision Bisping and then he'll be given a ridiculous amount of money and exposure and told to go after Silva. It's already the biggest rematch of the decade, the UFC will do everything in their power to make it happen.

Pat Barry's finish was great and violent but you are right they both seemed ultra slow for some reason.

Neer survives and submits ludwig after I thought he was done for.

Same with Melvin and Miller. I thought Miller was going unconcious but he went on autopilot and pulled out a RNC. Although MG has no BJJ defense I don't think it would have mattered against a guy like Miller.

More free fights next weekend!

I've got Sonnen to submit Bisping which I think he'll try with everything he has to do. Looked brilliant at the weigh ins and think he'll be too crafty for Bisping. If Bisping can do the impossible and stop all of Sonnens takedowns, he could eek thye decision.

Other big fights, I have Maia win the decision over Weidman though that will be a tough match. Weidman is still working on his stand up so will be interesting how hes developed since last fight.

Evans should beat Davis, perhaps by KO. Both are excellent wrestlers so I have a feeling they will eliminate that aspect of each others' game. If it stays up, Evans has a huge advantage IMO. Good night of fights.

Yeah, pretty average card in the end, but we were well overdue for one, considering how spoiled we've been lately.

Maia needs to seriously re-think his training if he's gassing half way through a three round fight that wasn't even particularly active or intense. The only thing that I can think happened is that he figured he'd coast through the last minute replacement and when he realised he was in for a fight he'd just defeated himself mentally.

Bisping performed really well and I actually gave the first two rounds to him. Sonnen didn't do a whole lot of damage and he failed to control Bisping at all on the mat . Obviously the 3rd went to Sonnen, but that 30-27 card was complete shit.

The main event was almost exactly what I expected. It was just too early for Davis to take that kind of a step up, and it was obvious after the first round that he was out of his depth. He did his best to keep fighting to win, even up to the last round he was throwing head kicks and trying to move forward, but Rashad is just a better fighter for now. Davis got some good experience in that fight (how many guys in his position have been to decision in a five round fight?), and if he takes as a learning experience he can only improve. The only thing that irked me is that Rashad never really looked for a finish, even when he was presented with submissions he'd ignore them in favour of securing a safer position. That's not the way to give the fans exciting fights, can't wait for Jones to push his shit in.

I also gave Bisping rounds 1 and 2, while Sonnen easily took 3. I made a comment on twitter about that judge who had it 30-27...I mean, what the hell was he watching? Sonnen was getting rocked the first two rounds, and couldn't keep Bisping down.

Maia didn't look good at all. Evans also looked pretty sharp, and fought smartly against a longer opponent. I expect him to provide Jones with the toughest title defense Jones will encounter. In the end, I see Jones finishing Rashad with strikes.

I still have Condit over Diaz, even though he's the underdog. I'm biased though because I'm a fan of Condit. Diaz has amazing hands, and it won't surprise me to see Condit getting outboxed all night.

Another somewhat slow night of fights, but still some prett good mma.

Nelson has the heart of a lion but Rogan is right... He should drop fat to middleweight. He just can't hang with this division.

Kos put on a pretty tedious battle that he perhaps should have lost.

Now on the the controversy Diaz vs Condit

I thought Condit displayed a great amount of patience with his gameplan and it paid off big time IMO. He refused to be goaded into a brawl that he would have no chance of winning. I thought he outstruck Diaz most the whole fight and really displayed some technical striking. Diaz really just tried to walk Condit into the fence so he could do his punches in bunches routine. Yeah, same.

Condit fought a very smart fight against a very tough cookie. Diaz didn't adapt in the slightest and he paid dearly for it. It was clear by the third that the leg kicks were slowing Diaz down (did he check any of those?) and Condit looked untouchable after that. If Diaz had had a plan B, or even a better plan A (I dunno, maybe to take down the technically superior striker...?) then he'd have had a lot more success, and I think he could've edged a decision, or even subbed Condit. Diaz fought a very dumb fight, and when he realised he couldn't taunt Condit into a brawl then he should've begun mixing it up more, but he didn't, he did his little zombie shuffle and edged forward while Condit was kicking his legs out from under him and landed whatever hands he chose to land. People shouldn't be bitching about Condit fighting smart and countering the whole night, Machida has made a career out of exactly that, and he's failed to finish guys who aren't nearly as tough as Diaz.

Diaz will be back, he can only bitch and whinge so much before Dana drops a truckload of money out the front of his house and offers him a shot against GSP.

Condit's performance was amazing that fight. I think he was extremely smart, and he landed amazing combinations. His balance was on point! Those leg kicks were great, and his technique of avoiding the fence helped him win the fight.

Those who are calling him a runner and a coward are idiots who just want to see guys brawling until one happens to land the big shot. They have no appreciate for good fighting.

Nelson won my heart with his effort. I appreciate his effort against a superior fighter; he really kept it coming and had me hoping he'd land the big right.

I didn't catch today's action of Sanchez vs. Ellenberger but read that it was a good fight.


Next week's card isn't too shabby.

The japan card is fucking amazing. I'm totally 50/50 on Bendo/Edgar. Henderson is strong, fast and has cardio for days. But after the two years Edgar just had I find it super hard to pick against him.

Rampage is getting the KO. If Tito can spark Bader, Rampage is gonna turn out his lights. If Rampage doesn't get the ko, I still can't see Bader taking out a decision.
Kongo is not KOing hunt. Decision, maybe, but I'm on the Hunt train. Hunt by KO.
Shields UD, Okami UD, Pettis UD (or late stoppage)

I'm also 50/50 on Edgar-Bendo. Very tough to pick. The way I see it the longer the fight goes the larger advantage Edgar has, he's proven that he rallies late and knows how to come back strong in the championship rounds. Still though, Bendo is VERY tough. great cardio and great submissions. Too tough to decide!

I hope Rampage KOs Bader, he should be able to. Then again, he couldn't put away Hamill, and Gustafsson managed to do so in 1½ rounds. (BTW I GOT TICKETS TO UFC: SWEDEN APRIL 14th! WHOOOOOO! IIIIITS TIIIIIME!!) IT seems like Rampage just idn't as motivated anymore, but I think he wants to, and WILL win big in Japan. Bader hasn't done anything of late that has impressed me.

I think the judges scored the fight correctly on Edgar/Henderson. Edgar was caught with a few solid knees, and had a deep guillotine attempt on him. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch, although Henderson looked too big for Edgar. I think Edgar should fight Aldo...that will be a fun matchup to watch.

Rampage not making weight was extremely disappointing, and his performance was pathetic. He is an extreme bore to watch, and I don't care to ever see him fight again. At least Tito goes in and puts in a valiant effort to put a good show.

Pettis' knockout was awesome. The guy is the real deal. I'd love to see him get a title shot...but that division is so stacked, it could take another victory over a tough opponent to get that shot.

I agree about the decision. I wasn't scoring the fight as I was watching it, but I knew in my gut that Edgar wasn't winning. I wouldn't necessarily mind a rematch, but not straight away, give someone else their chance at the title, the division is far too stacked to have and endless series of rematches.

Man that come from behind win by Boetsch was incredible. Okami was lighting him up in the first round, I thought it was all over.

Pettis' head kick- fucking brutal. That connected perfectly against his head with the shin. Perfect kick.

Yep. I was ecstatic about his win over Le, but I agree- it could be the end.

Can't wait for Dos Santos/Overeem. On that same card we get Nelson/Bigfoot and Mir/Velasquez, I believe. How awesome is that??
