Pre-E3 Spike TV look

Someone over at AvPGalaxy - The Pulse of the Alien & Predator Community forums kindly uploaded some footage of what was shown at the Pre-E3 show. Unfortunately, it is not of good quality - but still appreciated nonetheless. Also, there was no official trailer, it was simply a 15 to 20 second clip. We'll just have to wait till E3 before we get a much better look at the game.

Wayne: Yes, you do get to play all 3. Right now they seem to be showing us more of the Predator. From what I recall, 10 years ago, Rebellion did something similar where they primarily concentrated on one species at a time. I believe they also released 3 separate demos, one for each species too...

Also, can someone check out the footage at GameTrailers TV? I'm capped at the moment so maximum download speeds I get is 7.5 to 8 kb/sec which is piss poor.

Yeah, actually, in this one I noticed the title "New AvP footage" - I must've been watching a different chapter or something. I'll definately check out the HD footage when I'm uncapped in 3 days time.

Anyway, this will have to hold us over until E3 in a few days time. I'm hoping for new screenshots and I'll be looking forward to seeing the supposed video of Colonial Marines gameplay and Predator playable demo. Interesting to note is the "work in progress" in top right, so things are still subject to change. They've still got around another year to go, which is good.

I guess someone could post a thread with HD grabs from the video - like close-up of the Alien, etc to discuss things.

I have returned!

I can't believe it's been three years since I was last here, I'm thrilled with the entire thing, and personally a little freaked out that I can clearly see some game mechanics Kindred, Skullsplitter, and I discussed in-detail for pages and pages way back from 2003 to 2006.

Goes to show you, anything can happen, here I was thinking two god awful movies and a series of crappy half-effort games had killed the franchise, only to have the original people come back and resurrect it.

Good stuff.

Having had a closer look at the trailer, I believe quite a bit there, particularly with the look of the aliens will change. Some of you may have noticed that the teeth appear to be black, much like the gums - I think that will change. Infact, with some of the screenshots released on IGN it looks like it already has changed.

I think we'll have to wait till E3 to get a better look at things.

As well as looking pretty i hope the engine has wide scale adaptive moddy possibilities.

Though I dont honestly know if a predator could pick up an alien by the throat you know.

It would literaly be like me, here in my pants - picking up a rabid cougar by the scruff.

Even if i had massive blades on my other wrist, it wouldnt change the fact id have no eyes or face in 4 seconds.

Well, the Predator is one strong and tough mofo. I wonder if it will be possible to grab enemies in multiplayer. I think it would be cool if you could.

Dang, I remember implementing grab into Cancer Black. That was one tough thing to get right, with the network synch and all. Believe it worked well in the end

Have you noticed the Predator's health and energy in the HUD? A hint, look at the bottom of the screen

Very cleverly done IMO, does not mess up the view as it did in the previous games.

It looks a bit too COD 4 with all of these pre-rendered animations that seem to happen that take away from it...somehow. I don't know man. ECE is right, an alien wouldn't just flail about if you picked it up by it's throat, it would kill you. And how is he supposed to kill it point blank without getting melted, man?

I am afraid for this games coolness factor. I'm thinking it might be TOO beefed up... the first one just felt really lean...I don't know man.

I hear you about those wrist blades, Badass...something about them.

I don't dig the bright red arrows for the preds to jump...maybe if they made it look more like part of your HUD
