AN ALIEN THAT EATS XENOS

Does anybody remember an alien from the alien comics back in the early 90's that came down and ate xenos, these aliens were the xenos natural predators. They were of sorts above the food chain on the xenos and as soon that they incountered xenos they wood eat them alive. They had a big jaw mouth more or like the one the Preds had in P2...

This should go to the Literature forum, since you're asking about a comic.

Aliens had no natural predators when they were full grown. The creatures in the comic were trying to eat the baby chestburster queen and didn't succeed.

They are also nameless and the whole thing was speculative anyways.

He's referring to the Theory of Alien Propagation, I think.

And yes, the Aliens had natural predators. The comic is very explicit on that point.

Then again, the entire comic is theoretical, and not actually fact.

Correction -- there are two other comics in which the Aliens have natural predators, in fact:
- 'Aliens: Reapers'
- 'Aliens: Taste'

Well, they're not "Predators" (as in, AvP Predators, Yautja). I'd post pics of the 3 creatures from the 3 comics, *if* I had a scanner or something. Sorry.

How can a comic that as based on theory be taken as fact? Thats like saying that the snuggabuggafu>than the Alien when it doesn't exist and has no place in reality. And the winged things stayed away from the Aliens in Earthhive, Bueller or Wilks notes it. And if I recall in the Hicks and Newt version of the AP part of the comic, the little lizard things was trying to go after the babyqueen. Once they realized the couldn't, they ran away.

As for the other two, there might be two predators that eat on the Aliens, but there was none shown in the first comic.

Erm, we're in agreement on that point. Re-read my post.

It talks about them picking a fight with the Aliens, and "some Aliens die, but the natural order and balance remain the same" or somesuch.

Hmm... not offhand. Two of the three comics are rather obscure, so most people don't know they even exist.

They are DHP comics with Alien stories in them. You can still get them, its finding the issue number thats the problem.

Well, 'Aliens: Taste' isn't - it's in the 'Dark Horse Comics' serial series. I'll look up the issue number later.
However, 'The Theory of Alien Propagation' and 'Aliens: Reapers' were both reprinted in 'Dark Horse Presents: Aliens, Platinum Edition', so if you get that one issue, you'll have two out of the three.
I'll also look up the original DHP issue numbers for ToAP and Reapers later, for the curious.

Well, 'The Theory of Alien Propagation' was also in Book One, but the flying creatures you're referring to are different from the ones in the ToAP.

Yep. Ran for some 20-something issues, I think. There were a bunch of Aliens and Predator stories in it, along with other random stuff (some James Bond stuff, some John Carpenter's 'The Thing' stuff, some Star Wars stuff). Think of 'Dark Horse Comics' as a color version of Dark Horse Presents.

Some Aliens/Predator stories I can remember offhand that showed up in 'Dark Horse Comics':
- Aliens: Taste
- Aliens: Cargo
- Predator: Blood on Two Witch Mesa (tie-in to 'Predator: Big Game')
- Aliens: Backsplash (prelude to 'Aliens: Labyrinth')
- Aliens: Alien (REALLY cool story)
- Predator: Bad Blood prelude
- Predator: The Hunted City

There's a few more I'm forgetting. I'm also a big fan of the 'The Thing' story, "Questionable Research", which ran in 'Dark Horse Comics'. It's very cool, and worth seeking out if you enjoyed 'The Thing'.

In 'Aliens: Book 1', there was a scientific documentary 'film' being shown, but it was just theory on teh scientist's part.

It showed some alleged natural predators of the aliens. They were kind of reptilian, but looked very awkward. Not scary at all... If they were on a film, it probably wouldn't be believable that they could take on an alien and win against it!
