New Pred Book, Forever Midnight

But the settlers aren't alone. The Predators have been on this planet all along. When the ravenous creatures attack an arriving spacecraft and capture the settlers as both slaves and prey for their hunt, terraforming the planet takes a back seat to a new fight for survival."

That's cool. I don't think they've had that many pred books set in the future.

I was going to ask this in another thread, but since the new book Aliens Original Sin is out now, I'll ask it here.

Has anybody read it yet? And is it ANY good?

I see they have pushed back the release date for the Aliens original sin book.

Which is disheartening, since it was really the only alien related thing I was interested in as of now.

Probably will suck anyways.

Edit: I've read the first six pages at darkhorse.com. Can't say the novel is off to a particularly good start. :-(

Does anyone think this 'eternally lit jungle' will suddenly be plunged into years of Pitch Black style darkness when the Predators show up.

What could have happened in 2017?

Technically, just half of the planet could be in a permanent state of day.

Sounds just like the Pitch Black planet.

Plus the sun appears to be setting behind the Predator on the cover.

It'd be the most obvious route to take to have the colonists battle not only Predators but darkness too. Can only hope Shirley takes the road less travelled.

'Predator: Concrete Jungle' happens roughly within 10 years of that (2030). 'AvP: Eternal' is pretty close, too. Maybe the book will elaborate?

All I know is, I'll be buying that book the day it comes out.

There was about a zillion comics though.

I think that there wasn't more novels because the interest level was down around the era where they started trying to print the pred novels.

I'm thinking those Hungarian novels might not be exactly legal in the US. I tried looking under Dean Foster for his books and it didn't show. Look at the Alien on the original cover....it doesn't look quite the same either.

It kinda reminds me of that thing with the LOTR's where it says that the Orcs are just misunderstood and that the human, elve, and dwarvish alliance is but a way to get rid of the misunderstood people of the world.

But that book can only be realeased overseas.

I still want them translated into English.

I might try hunting down some copies, if only to see if they've got the 20th Century Fox licensing/copyright information anywhere.
