Games New UT2K7 demo vid (Not gameplay)

Some interesting videos of UT2007 showing off the enviroment and a look at some new weapons although not firing them off.

http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=811

I'm pretty glad they kept the old UT2004 hud for the game, i might hold off buying this game till i get a new pc which should be after the game comes out because i doubt my 6800 GT will handle this on high.

Meh, bit boring vids.....

I hope Epic concentrate more on the more interesting modes, like ONS and Assault. DM is just boring these days. Though i suppose the good thing about UT, is the mod community.

Thats what i'd expect, i pretty much explained it were just demonstrations, anyway news on UT2007 is always nice.

Yup i can't wait to play ONS more than anything in this game.

Although i have to say the weapon models for the Flak gun and Link gun look crap, the Flak gun looks like a Minigun

ONS was an awesome new game-mode for UT2004, i hope they can do somet similar with 07.

Ive read they are re-doing Torlan with the new engine, id like to see some of the other maps as well.

Yeah E3 should be cool.

Whats your fav ONS map? Mines probably Severence Primeval or Urban.

Some of the mod community made maps are brilliant as well. That extra map Icarus was cool, but i never see it online.

My 6800 GT will need to be upgraded to a 7800GTX as soon as possible. I'm also going to have to get more RAM.

I liked the map they showed, the Liandri world. I like the way they gave the illusion of a huge environment with a kickass city backdrop. Games that do that are just that much better, as opposed to having large walls just blocking any further exploration.

Not really much of an upgrade

The 7800GTX is bascially old news. A X1800/X1900, would be a far better choice, or a 7900GT.

That's exactly what i'm doing.

The again Epic has a nice habit of making really scaleble engines so if you have a Geforce 6 series card and 1GB or more ram you should be fine running it,obviously those with 7800+ and X1800+ will see the benefits but i'm happy to wait a while to play it with all bells and whistles.

Would make sense, if it's mainly for UT2007, but then again, theres always somet better around the corner. This is menna be out Before Xmas, Vista has been put back to next year, though the cards should be fully DX10.

Wow, the effects on the paladins shield look awesome. I was expecting a bigger sheild though, would make it more useful.

Also the game is (Or Torlan 2 plus vehicles) unpolished and unfinished so chances are that'll it will look better than that.

Can't wait to be skimming onto people with the Manta on this map.

Cool. I can't wait till I get to shockball anybody trying to skim me with a manta.

I think the shield on the paladin looks just right. If it were any bigger, I think it would be too effective.

Bishop here. I'm afraid I have some bad news.

Hudson - Well thats a switch.

But the main gun was pathetic in 2004, so it was bascially a meat sheild tank. I think a sheild the size of the levi would be cool, but make it run out, say 30 seconds.

The only hing I don't like about the shield is how the edges are too perfect. I think it would look better if the edges were kind of rough/sloppy. It looks like a portal.

I'm really liking the maps so far.

Upgrade your pc then, you have plenty of time to do so.

If not then get it for the PS3 when it comes out.

Don't get it for the PS3!! This game is meant for PC!

How hard do you think mapping will get for this? I imagine they'll release a UTModMaker with the game, but surely the difficulty will skyrocket.

It will be more difficult in the sense of mapmakers being more and more related to modeling and texture making than just placing some blocks and connecting rooms - those times are over.

The quality of the actual maps made on the other hand will also rocket.

As long as there are skilled people out there who can make their own stuff and master several programs. Ofcourse you always have the option of using all the premade things - ofcourse that probably wouldn't get you the best results.

I think UT2k5 already had fully working architecture importing from 3d apps, could be wrong though.

So those with low-end pc's are going to miss out because you don't want it to come to the PS3?

Seriously i hate it when Inane (Not implying you) Pc gamers get offended just because their most wanted game is going on a console aswell as pc.
