Not even Alien V can give this place a heartbeat.

Alien V directed by Neil Blomkamp that ignores Alien 3 and Alien Res and continues the story of Ripley and Hicks.

Well, I'm curious as to what this may turn out like.
I'm not really expecting much, although I did enjoy District 9.

I've always been against the dream idea because it is fucking cheezy, but its happening so oh well.

If it even approaches Isolation levels of good I will be alright with it.

    I'm not too hopeful.
While somewhat interesting, I don't think Blomkamp's films really have any major resonance. I liked D9, Elysium was a fun, but just nothing to write home about.
And this whole "let's ignore A3 and A:R" thing is just stupid IMHO.
While not perfect films, they are there and you should just deal with it.

Having said that, I hope he makes a decent sci-fi horror flick. Although I'm guessing he'll be going for the ra-ra, militaristic, let's blow aliens up stuff fanboys of Cameron's film have been waiting for since '86.

Covenant was alright.. just not liking the origin of the Alien much. I had hoped it would have been grander.

I was quite disappointed by it. To be clear, I didn't hate it - but I came away thinking there was nothing memorable or outstanding about it at all.

I had zero expectations, so it was hard to be disappointed.

One thing I disliked was the aliens seemingly spawning more as a result of when the plot demanded it, than through any kind of chance.
They were always at the right place at the right time.. without anyone knowing how they got there.

Covenant was interesting to me simply for David's character. The whole Walter/David dynamic was the most interesting dynamic in the movie. They should've stuck with either the neomorphs OR the Aliens as the main monster. They stole each other's screen time so both of their arrivals and feature scenes seemed rushed. Characters were dumb just like prometheus. It was pretty to look at though but had no feels.

Should say, Alien V has been cancelled, not seen Covenant yet.
