    Question Covenant

Like with Prometheus I left.. disappointed. All the lore, shared universe with Predator, the engineers etc - it's all being destroyed slowly but surely.
I liked the idea of the xeno's being a biological weapon being transported for conflict by an engineer and then crash landing. Now it's become the same old trite "AI vs Organic" nonsense everyone is so busy beating to death.
It's just not that interesting any more.

The new installments are ambitious, they're gorgeously filmed but essentially I find them superficial and not terribly interesting. The more I learn about the "backstory" to Alien, the less I care about the whole thing. Thoughts?

I'm going to miss the old idea of the Aliens being some ancient weapon of the Space Jockeys too. I love David but I just don't want to see him tied so into the universe and as a result, see the lore made that much smaller.

truthfully they had to try something different, the Alien as a creature itself IS limiting. It has no weapons, you can argue intelligence, but ultimately after a half dozen sequels it's just a mechanoid buzzsaw.

I actually find david the most interesting thing in the franchise outside the original trilogy.

I don't like his role in the creation of the alien, seems added on to give him a check in the villian box, but he's been the most interesting character in the new arc box.

The movie was ok. Parts I enjoyed, parts not so much.

David as a villain was ok, I do not remember him at all from Prometheus tho... It was unfortunately too obvious that he was posing as Walter in the end and that the guy no one cares about was infected.

I am left with one big question tho. Why did they always pull up their hoodie? Did it work as a helmet? Was it raining inside the ship? Or simply for fashion, as it looked cool as fuck
