Been kicking around mostly with tablets, and using a first gen Alienware Alpha SFF on my desk for a few years now. It has worked but it hasn't been great either. Just functional. I finally decided I wanted a new PC, one that put me back near the top of the stack. What prompted that was my discovery of the Dan A4-SFX case, which promises to be both tiny (7.2L) and accomodate top end specs. After six moths of picking up parts, here is what I ended up with:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
Cooler: Noctua NH-L9a
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B350-I Mini-ITX
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000 32GB
Storage (boot): Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2
Storage (data): Micron 1100 2TB SATA
GPU: Gigabyte geForce GTX 1080 Mini-ITX
Case: DAN Cases A4 SFXv2 (black)
Power Supply: Corsair SF450W

Everything else on the list I already had.

The main goals were top end performance while maintaining silence. It has largely succeeded. I hear a bit of the air moving through, but that's it even when gaming.

The case is absolutely gorgeous, I strongly suggest checking it out here:
