Looks like the show is deviating from the source material now enough that no character is safe. Shane is still alive and now they kill off a character after 2 episodes who survived 20 issues in the comic.

Shane seems to be turning evil or something as well. I haven't read the comics (wish I had) so who got killed off in season one that was suppose to live? Also is ther anyone in the comics that TV Shane has replaced?

Also this season is moving pretty slow I'm hoping it picks up the pace from here on out. Otherwise still a liking the series.

Shane should be dead by now. In the comics, he's deceased by the time the group reach Hershel's farm. He hasn't 'replaced' anyone though. As for other characters, no-one died in Season 1 who wasn't supposed to. Amy died exactly the same way she did in the comics and Jacqui wasn't even in the comics to begin with. Carol's husband Ed was only mentioned in the comic and he was dead by the time she was introduced (he'd previously committed suicide after seeing his parents eaten alive).

I really don't understand why people say it's "slow". What would be considered "fast"? Endless, repetitive action sequences involving zombies? That's not what The Walking Dead is about - it's essentially a human drama set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse. You also have to consider it seems 'slower' because this is a thirteen-episode season and they have much more time to flesh out the characters than they did in the shorter first season.

No, I think the action and zombies are just fine. It just seems like they've been stuck on the side of the road, looking for the lost girl for to long.

I wonder what they have in store for Shane. They seem to have a story arc planned involving Rick and Shane. I was thinking maybe they merged another character's story from the comics with his.

I'm liking it so far but I agree with Cpl. that they're dragging it out a bit too much, and yes some of the characters like Andrea are way too bitchy.

For awhile it seemed like Shane was redeeming himself but after the 3rd episode it seems like he's lost it again.

I hope it picks up though 'cause compared to the first season this one's lacking, not anywhere near as close to the level of excitement and intense drama. Still good, but I really hope that it picks up, otherwise I just don't see the ratings continuing at the current numbers.

Also, is it just me or do the zombies seem to move a lot faster/run compared to the first season? I could be wrong but I don't recall any zombies running in the first one, and that's ruining most of the tension for me, running zombies aren't as scary/dramatic as the slow moving ones, plus it's just more realistic if they move slow.

Slow episode tonight with virtually no action. Still, those who read the comic will have noted some scenes that resonated:

* Carl finally being given Rick's sheriff's hat to wear. He's still wearing it in the comics as of Issue #90.

* Glenn and Maggie finally getting it on.

* Hershel wanting the survivors to stay away from the barn and closer to the house. This and Maggie's reaction to the death of the 'well zombie' are both foreshadowing the reveal to come.

Yeah it was the slowest yet, it was ok and had some decent parts but pretty boring overall. I like your spoilers though, that does sound promising. I wonder what the reveal is....

Ive been enjoying the hell out of this. I must admit I haven't really been on edge, anticipating the next episode though. I always look forward to sunday for it, but last nights episode has got me pretty anxious.

The show's picking back up but there are some serious flaws like the running zombies, they never ran in the first season, which is probably one of the creative differences Darabont had with the suits, hence his premature departure.

I enjoyed Shane dropping some truth bombs on the group as a whole. My wife also picked exactly what was going to happen. As all the zombies were pouring out of the barn she said "a little Sophia zombie is gonna come out and Rick is gonna have to kill her"

...and with that 'startling' revelation of a mid-season closer I'm kind of done and over the show. Irritated about the storyline and the 2.5 month hiatus before we get a new episode

All shows do that though around Thanksgiving and don't return until late January/early February, it's been that way for decades.

The show's redeemed itself quite a bit but it's still a far cry from the first season. Still worth watching though.

I'm still really enjoying it, I like everyone but the blond chick and Lori. I can't wait to see the throwdown between Rick and Shane. I'm also wondering when/ifDarryl is going to betray the group.

I am a little worried now that Darabont is completely off the series and the last of his influence on the show has come to an end. Hopefully the show maintains its quality.

I've been enjoying the shit out of this show even though this long stretch we're having on the farm is starting to get tiring. But Rick seems to be getting more bad ass in these recent episodes, so I can't wait to see what'll happen between him and Shane.

David Morrissey has been confirmed as The Governor in Season 3. I just can't see it (Tom Savini wanted the role and looks alot closer to the comic character) but I don't know Morrissey's work well so I'll reserve judgement....

Good episode tonight.....this second half of the season has certainly been reducing the 'soapiness' of the first half. At least they should be off the farm (at last) by the time the finale rolls around in a few weeks time. I've heard rumor that Michonne may appear in the last episode (although that is just rumor). I guess at this point they won't be introducing Tyreese....although the current 'token black guy' (T-Dawg) still hasn't had anything worthwhile to do since the show started :P

The tv series is okay, not as good as the comics but still good. Surprised they kill off so many characters who made it much further than in the books (sophia, dale).

Also, it better have tyrese. Dude was cool.

I read the recap of the full episode on EW. Hopefully with what happened on last night's episode, they'll finally get off that farm. I love a good drama, but this show is movie a little too slowly.

Have to disagree. I think the last 3- 4 episodes have picked up dramatically compared to the first half of the season, especially with Rik's characterisation. Really despised the first half of the season and thought they were scraping the barrel for storylines but there's much more of a flow now even though we're still at the farm. Was really surprised by the turn of events at the end of the last episode especially.

I still don't buy how Dale could be ambushed by a walker in the middle of a wide open field without seeing it approach.

Let alone hear it, I mean zombies aren't exactly ninjas, I thought that was weak, too.

Also, am I the only one who noticed that zombies have been running in this season? In several episodes they've been running while in the first they could only move very slowly. Darabont's departure has more or less killed this show, even though it's picking up a bit Too many plot holes, inconsistencies, regurgitation, etc.

I've noticed the walkers moving at a brisk speed walk but none running. Also Dale getting surprised was not so bad, it appeared to be standing just a few feet to his right in the shadows and he's an old man with a slow response time. I do agree though that after seeing the cow he would would have been more prepared.

Also Im not surprised that a fan of the RE series disikes The walking dead.
