"Command & Conquer The First Decade is being developed at EAs Los Angeles studio"
It's a compilation pack, what's there to develop other than compatability fixes to get the old games running under XP? |

They are developing it with out any referances to WestWood. They are going to remove all the logos, names and screens and replace them with EA logos. |

#3, which is about as low as low can get. GO EA! Raise the bar ... on low. |

And sorry, thats just speculation on my part. I mean, its low, but not to low for EA. Certainly something they would do. |

"what's there to develop other than compatability fixes to get the old games running under XP"
Ah ... so instead of doing work to make this happen they should just sprinkly the code with magic game dust? |
Austin, seriously. Magic dust? What are you six?
It's actually mexican faeries that do the work.
So I've been told. |

Austin,
tbh I was thinking more in terms of there's a difference between patching up some exes (you can get the old C&C's running under XP with a little bit of work anyway) and developing a game from scratch (ie it's not like they're actually building the games).
I may actually get this for the sake of completeness.

This is pretty cool - I was considereing getting some of the older C&C games. I'm missing the allied disc for Red Alert and the NOD disc for the original C&C. This will just take care of everything,. |

Yeah ... I see what you're saying, "developed" probably isn't the right word, but I assure you it takes more than a little work to make this release. |

No, developed isn't the right word Austin316 ... unless Amnesiac's speculation is correct (which would suck). However, even the original press release says develop.
"Command & Conquer The First Decade is under development at EA's Los Angeles studio and has a US MSRP of $39.99. All games included in the compilation are rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB. (a) According to NPD Group." |

Aren't they supposed to be developing Red Alert 3?
I'll be getting this purely because I want to play these games on XP.
PS I miss Westwood. :( |

"Aren't they supposed to be developing Red Alert 3?"
Even if they are, it just won't be the same. A soulless, shoddily-programmed boring POS without any cutscenes or even any semblance of a story, masquerading as a Red Alert game. |

I'll be getting this for the same reason as a lot of other people, either my CDs are stuffed or I want to play them on XP. |
